Using a four-stage filtration process, Sun Water Systems has produced a rugged, easy to maintain water filter unit with the largest capacity of any whole-house water filtration system of 8 gallons per minute, about 30 liters per minute. Stage one uses a standard, off the shelf filter cartridge. It is a 5 micron, 10 inch spun filter cartridge and is readily obtainable. The fourth and final stage is of another layer of activated carbon produced from coconut shell.
